Update on Operations During the Government Shutdown

Thursday, October 10, 2013

On October 1, 2013 the government officially commenced a partial shutdown due to the lack of an appropriations bill or continuing resolution that would authorize and provide funding for an interim period. Because the Judiciary receives non-appropriated funds, it has and will continue operations through October 17, 2013 without a final budget for fiscal year 2014 or, in the alternative, a continuing resolution.

Until further notice, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia will continue to operate under its normal schedule in all divisions (Atlanta, Newnan, Rome and Gainesville). The Court's case management system, CM/ECF, as well as PACER, will remain available, even in the event of a Judiciary shutdown.

All hearings and §341 meetings of creditors will be held, as noticed.

We will provide additional information as it becomes available.

M. Regina Thomas, Clerk of Court
