Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER)
PACER is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal appellate, district and bankruptcy courts, and the PACER Case Locator via the Internet. PACER is provided by the federal Judiciary in keeping with its commitment to providing public access to court information via a centralized service. There is a charge for using PACER. Detailed information about PACER, including the needed equipment, costs, etc. may be obtained on its website at www.pacer.gov.
Multi-Court Voice Case Information System (MCVCIS)
MCVCIS is a free service that provides case information over the telephone including debtor name, case number, judge, filing date, chapter, asset/no asset designation, attorney, trustee and current case status. This voice case information system can be accessed from any touch tone telephone and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, except during system maintenance. To access this service, call toll free at 866-222-8029 and follow the prompts for Georgia Northern Bankruptcy Court.
Clerk's Office
Public computer terminals are located in the Clerk's Office of each of the Court's four divisional offices. The public may view, without charge, online dockets and documents and paper files in the Clerk's Office. If a case or adversary proceeding has a paper file, that file may be reviewed only in the Division in which that case or adversary proceeding is filed. Files in fully electronic cases may be viewed in any of the four offices.
Obtaining Copies of Documents
The cost to print information from the public terminals located in the Clerk's Office is $.10 per page. The cost for photocopies requested in person at the Clerk's Office, online or by phone is $.50 per page. Certified Copies are an additional $12.00.

Archived Case Information
Archived cases for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia are stored at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for the Southeast Region in Atlanta, Georgia. For information and instructions on how to order copies directly from the NARA, go to: http://www.archives.gov/research/court-records/bankruptcy.html. You may request copies from NARA by mail, fax or online using a major credit card (phone orders are not accepted).
Before ordering copies from NARA: You will need some basic information concerning the case, including the case number, accession number, location number and box number. To obtain this information, contact the appropriate United States Bankruptcy Court Clerk's office.
Electronic Record Retrieval Service (known as SmartScan) - As an alternative to requesting copies from NARA or having boxes of records shipped from an FRC to a court, this new service allows members of the public to request electronic delivery of a limited number of scanned judiciary pages (request cannot exceed 100 pages). A $20.90 flat rate fee plus $0.65 per page applies.
